The Granary

The owners of Briggs Ranch and a team led by Convergence Investments had a bold vision: to build a net zero community in San Antonio, Texas that served as a living laboratory of sustainability within a 1,000 acre eco-friendly development.

We collaborated with Lake Flato, Rialto Studio and Brass Partners to create a brand from the ground up, and design a community of the future.

To quickly get up to speed, BREAD and Convergence led a charrette with the country’s most robust sustainable building initiative, The Living Building Challenge.

A slide with the words

Together, we ideated on which elements would be non-negotiable in developing The Granary.

Three pillars were identified:

A house with a red roof and blue door.

The story of The Granary, woven through a visionary brand book, was the catalyst to bringing on key strategic partners including local universities, politicians and environmentally driven NGO’s.
