Co-Founder

An entrepreneur at heart with deep experience building brands, an eye for design and a commitment to social innovation. Co-founder of Milkshake, a daily email featuring good finds that give back. Co-founder of MATERIAL, a fashion-inspired activewear line. Serves on various boards across private companies, educational institutions and angel networks.

An award-winning copywriter and creative director. Founder of Campus Goose, a concierge service on college campuses. Founder of The Loading Dock, a special events venue.  Mentor and leader in arts education and college persistence programs, with a weekend passion for construction and interior design.

Huei-Tai Chen
Designer
Tai hails from Taiwan and received his Masters of Science in Packaging Design from Pratt Institute. His passion for design was peaked when he began his career as a copywriter. He quickly realized graphics could be even more persuasive than words. Tai has worked in design shops in Taipei, Shanghai, Tokyo and New York, is an award-winning amateur novel writer, and loves getting lost on his skateboard on the streets of Brooklyn.

Chris graduated from Dartmouth College with a double major in History and Middle Eastern studies. As a photographer, writer, and art director, Chris focuses on producing and shooting online content. Previous clients include Treat House, David Yurman, Stuart Weitzman, and Ann Taylor’s LOFT.

Betsy Ellison
Financial Officer

Betsy Ellison has been Bread Ventures’ Finance guru since inception. She was a senior manager in one of the big 4 accounting firms, and was a finance executive with Merrill Lynch in both its institutional business and its corporate finance function. Betsy provides analysis for all Bread’s venture opportunities and keeps the check and balances on all the books.
